The Prior Learning Junction (PLJ) was conceptualised by the partners of the Bayview Consortium in June 2005 with the goal of creating an independent platform to support the creation of a robust assessment environment for learners, job seekers and employees. Through this portal users will be able to create a portfolio that will be saved on the Bayview servers and used when applying for jobs or places in education. The assessment structures will utilise a mixture of input options to ensure that no member of the community is excluded from having an assessment of their prior learning. The templates are structured to be as accessible as possible. Input options will be developed as the PLJ partner base is expanded.
